William J Lineker, CPA CA

Excellence in Accounting Continues, I have been in public practice in Edmonton from 1979 until present, the first 10 years being at Deloitte LLP (formerly Touche Ross), and the last 20 years as owner of my public accounting firm.

Developing “life skills” within our youth has been very important to me, as I coached hockey for about 15 years, volunteered as a Junior Achievement mentor, and now work with youth as a hockey referee. Effort, Commitment, and Respect are what I believe in, as they form the foundation for successful people. I have also served the adult community as President and Treasurer of my golf club and community league, and work as an Off Ice Official for the National Hockey League. I am now a volunteer for the Edmonton Humane Society, working with animals.

I am an avid sports enthusiast, and continue to play hockey and golf a few times per week. I enjoy travelling and exploring interesting places, often staying in bed and breakfasts so that I can meet the local folks.

Retirement is my next challenge, as I have recently transitioned my practice to a young professional – Trevor Chopek. I have always been very busy, so I expect my days will be filled with people…family, consulting, volunteering, travel and enjoying life with a bit less stress.
